概要 |
This paper aims to report the activities of English writing and speaking including group work (mind-mapping, discussion, and making a draft), group presentation and round-table discussion. Participant...s are 1st year students who belong to Faculty of Agriculture and Faculty of Literature of Kyushu University. They not only write a paragraph, an essay and a research essay by themselves but also discuss their drafts with each other (a practice called peer review or peer editing) and cooperate with others to write the group essay using their own drafts. In the first reflection sheets, the students report difficulties when practicing for group presentation. However, they can tell group members their own opinions and reach a consensus about their essay. Moreover, the comments in the second reflection sheets suggest that the students are not good at giving advice to others regarding their essay. From these practices, we can know the importance of integrated lecture including explanation and various activities to foster students’ communicative language abilities and generic skills.続きを見る
