In this study, the laser measuring instrument was installed in CNC router, and tool wear monitoring system for router bit was constructed. The results obtained are summarized as follows: (1) Tool wear monitoring system was constructed, that was composed of the laser measuring instrument, the control PC for CNC router and the monitoring PC which control some devices and collect sampling data. (2) lt was found that this system could monitor a progression of tool wear during cutting process with CNC router.
