Abstract Preservation of silence in the house is important for comfortable living environment. Ventilation openings, which are indispensable to keep indoor air clean, might be a bottleneck in the prevention of... noise. This study aims at improving noise reduction of the ventilation openings in low-frequency using active noise control(ANC). In the past, basic performance of the ANC system for ventilation openings has been examined. However, when the living sound is mixed into the ANC system, it is doubtful whether the noise reduction performance of the ANC system will be ensured. In this paper, therefore, some possibilities of tactics with a directional microphone, neural network technique, and so on are investigated to improve the ANC performance decreased by the living sound.show more
