This study explored how enhanced awareness of one's body by receiving Dohsa-hou influences individual's attitudes and their everyday life experiences. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with individuals with cerebral palsy who had been receiving Dohsa Training, and an adult female group without cerebral palsy who had participated in a health Dousa-hou meeting. Both groups described a connection between mental change and body awareness engendered by Dohsa-hou, and reported an influence ofDohsa-hou on their mind and body in daily life. Furthermore, participants in the health Dohsa-hou meeting incorporated Dohsa-hou into daily life after the training. In contrast, people with cerebral palsy felt frustrated when they could not maintain the movements acquired in Dohsa-hou in daily life.
