This study aims to investigate the general imagery tendencies in adolescents and attempts to structure the general imagery tendencies. First, a questionnaire consisting of ten stimulus words was admin...istered to 125 university students (male: 40, female: 85) and their reaction words for each stimulus word by continuous word association were categorized using the KJ method. Results showed that each stimulus word has typical attributions and evokes typical imagery tendencies. Second, in order to structure the general imagery tendencies, superior categories generated from each stimulus word were categorizes into (1) positive, cognitive imagery tendency; (2) negative, cognitive imagery tendency; (3) neutral, cognitive imagery tendency; (4) positive, emotional imagery tendency; (5) negative, emotional imagery tendency; (6) neutral, emotional tendency; and (7) productive imagery tendency. As a result, it was suggested that imagery tendencies can be comprehended inclusively by the seven general imagery tendencies.show more
