Abstract In the first report, heat transfer characteristics of a flat plate solar collector panel with a two-phase thermosyphon is analytically investigated. In this second report, effects of storage tank wa...ter temperature, ambient temperature, tilt angle and working fluids on the collector efficiency are shown. By increasing in storage tank water temperature and/or by decreasing in ambient temperature, the collector efficiency decreases. The minimum heat flux which gives an operating limit of the collector panel exists depending on these temperature. If the effect of the tilt angle on the coefficient of heat loss from the panel is ignored, the tilt angle hardly affects the collector efficiency. Water has the highest collector efficiency among the working fluids investigated. By comparing the analytical results with the experiments, validity of this analysis is confirmed.show more
