Abstract |
We have developed a compact δE-E counter telescope composed of a proportional gas-counter as the δE detector and a silicon surface barrier detector as the E detector in order to measure energy spectra... of emitted α particles from proton-induced reactions on 12C. A thin window made of aluminum-evaporated mylar foil and low pressure P-10 gas were employed in the δE counter to achieve the low threshold energy of detectedα particles by reducing the energy loss in the δ E counter. The developed counter telescope has been used successfully in an experiment of the 12C (p,α) reaction at incident energies of 14 and 18MeV, and the threshold energy of α particles was about l MeV.show more
