Abstract |
Surface modifications of SnO2-and In2O3-based sensor elements with various noble metals or metal oxides were investigated for the detection of H2S, CH3SH and (CH3)2S present at a level around l ppm in... air. It was found that some metal oxides such as CaO and ZnO could promote significantly the sensitivity to the dilute volatile sulfides at 400℃ or 500℃, without degrading the response transient characteristics. Thus CaO (5wt%) -SnO2 was promising for the detection of H2S, ZnO (5wt%) -SnO2 was for CH3SH and (CH3)2S, and CaO (5wt%) -In2O3 was for (CH3)2S.show more
