Abstract |
Effective valences Z* of protium and deuterium in alpha phase of niobium and those of protium, deuterium and tritium in alpha phase of tantalum were measured by electromigration experiment with a stat...ionary state method in a temperature region from 370K to 550K. In the case of in Nb, the obtained values of Z* are larger than unity and decrease with temperature and definite isotope dependence of Z* is not observed. In the case of Ta, the values of Z* are less than unity and increase with temperature, and isotope dependence of Z* such as Z*H) > Z*D) > Z*T) is observed.show more
