Abstract |
A combined technique of the channelling enhanced X-ray microanalysis (ALCHEMI) and the intersecting Kikuchi line (IKL) method in the analytical electron microscopy has been applied to the studies of L...10 ordered state in Cu50Au40Pd10 and Cu45Au45Pd10 ternary alloys annealed at 573, 623 and 673 K. Au and Pd atoms have a tendency to share one of the two sublattices, whereas Cu atoms prefer the other one. The three elements achieve nearly equal-degree of order in Cu50Au40Pd10, while the degree of order of Au becomes lower than the others in Cu45Au45Pd10. It is therefore concluded that the ordering interaction between Cu and Pd is stronger than that between Cu and Au. We have confirmed that the degrees of order for the three elements decrease simultaneously with temperature raising from 573 to 673 K.show more
