Preparation of a thick film of La0. 6 Sr0.4 CoO3 perovskite-type oxide on a porous substrate of the same oxide was investigated for the development of high performance oxygen semipermeable membrane. D...eposition by the spray pyrolysis or paste painting method gave a rather porous thick film. It was found, however, that a combination of these methods with an acid treatment was effective in improving both the density of the film and the adhesion between the film and the substrate. An almost gastight thick film (10mum) was obtained when the treatment was repeated several times.show more
