Abstract |
Heat transfer characteristics of the gas flow within converging annular channels were investigated by use of the modified k-ε turbulence model established in the authors'preceding report. The modified... model was found to give an adequate prediction of the measured streamwise variation of the Nusselt number in the wide range of the heat rate. Calculated profiles of the turbulence energy and average streamwise velocity within the converging section are almost the same even with or without high heat flux. It is concluded, therefore, that the flow laminarization in the convergent channel wlth high flux heat is mainly caused by convergence.show more
