Abstract Boundary effect on electron cyclotron waves propagating in a cylindrical plasma column is examined with two different models. The dispersion relations, field profiles and polarizations are determined.... It is found that the dispersion relations for the lowest radial mode is not affected by the boundary condition. From the viewpoint of high density plasma production, this mode is still promising.show more
