Abstract |
Attempts were made to fabricate a WO3-sputtered film-based semisolid-type electrochromic display(ECD)device by using a proton conductive solid electrolyte(Sb2O5・2H2O)containing various acids. It was f...ound that the ECD performance was largely affected by the kind of the acid contained in the solid electrolyte. The response rate changed with the acids in the order H3PO4~H2SO4>CH3COOH≫HCOOH, and a rather short response time of ca. 200 ms for the optical density change of 0.5 was obtained with H3PO4. On the other hand, high coloring efficiency and good memorizability were attained with HCOOH. Cycle lives as tested with a 0.7~1.5 V square wave at 1~5 Hz were ca.3×105 with HCOOH or CH3COOH, ca.1×105 with H3PO4, and ca.2×104 with H2SO4.show more
