Abstract The purpose of this study is to examine the reason (basis) why persons experiencing eating disorders have a low self-evaluation, and to better understand their condition. Subjects included 42 patients... with eating disorders. Subjects freely described their reasons for low self satisfaction in a questionnaire. A comparison of the characteristics of their self-evaluation according to differences in the duration of the subject’s eating disorder was carried out. Reasons for lack of self-satisfaction were organized and examined, and as a result, a large change could not be seen by quantitative analysis. However, the qualitative analysis with free description showed persons suffering from eating disorder lose self confidence, become overwhelmed by the symptoms, and then over time begin to deepen feelings of introspection and self-acceptance. From this being alert to symptoms of change and the tireless support of the aid provider are considered to be important factors in the treatment of eating disorders.show more
