Abstract	In this paper, I propose considering Kyoka's <Hozuki> in the context of its time. At the time, the theories of eugenics, introduced at the end of the Meiji period, were under discussion. At first glan...ce, <Hozuki> appears to be hard to understand. But it permits us to see a new aspect if we read it as having eugenics set in its background. I attempt to consider his strategy.show more
