| Abstract |
The present paper is the first report on the paleontological study of the molluscan fauna (Pelecypoda) from the Shimajiri Group in Miyako-jima and is divided into two parts. Outline of the geology of ...Miyako-jima, stratigraphical position of fossil localities, occurrence of fossils and correlation of the molluscan fauna are included in the first part. Systematic description of the fauna is to be given in the second part. The molluscan fauna from the Shimajiri Group in Miyako-jima is correlated with those of the Shimajiri Group in Okinawa-jima, the Miyazaki Group and the Kakegawa Group in Southwest Japan, Fifty-three species are described and 3 species and 1 subspecies are new to science.show more
