Abstract The purpose of this paper is to clarify the property of Japanese benefactives, focusing on "ageru/kureru" sentence structure. After the contrastive analysis between "yaru" and "ageru", the result show...ed that Japanese benefactives are classified two groups, "yaru/morau" (A-group) and "ageru/kureru" (B-group). A-group describes the giving and receiving act as objective expressions. B-group describes the speaker empathy as subjective expressions.show more
