九州大学総合研究博物館では、2014年に子供を対象とした昆虫学をテーマとする体験型講座「夏の昆虫教室」を行った。本講座の目的は、昆虫に接しながら、身近な実用品または保存性と鑑賞性をもつ標本をつくることで、昆虫と昆虫学に対する親近感と好奇心を増すことである。本報告では、講座の詳細と、目的を達成するために講座内容に盛り込んだ内容および実施方法の工夫、そして今後の課題点について記述する。
