Abstract |
An approach is presented for controller design of elastic vibrating systems using partial knowledge of eigenstructures. An unstructured uncertainty class is characterized with least magnitude of addit...ive perturbation in frequency domain, which includes all the systems governed by a differential equation with certain norm bounds of unknown input and output operators and partially known eigenparameters. Then a sufficient condition is given for the existance of a finite dimensional controller meeting the specsifications: for all the systems of the uncertainty class, all eigenvalues of the closed loop system be assigned on the open half plane with some robust stability degree and the sensitivity function be bounded with some frequency weighting function. Several design techniques are also illustrated using an example of an ideal cantilevered flexible beam.show more
