Studies on the Strength Properties of SIS Hardboard Part 1 : Effect of Mesh Number of Wire Netting and Hot Pressing Time

Abstract 本研究は曲げヤング係数の高い硬質繊維板の製造条件の検討を主目的としたものである.一定条件でRed LauanからAsplund pulpを解繊し,熱圧時間と金網目を変化させて湿式法でSlS硬質繊維板を製造した(Table1,2,3).網目の大きさ,および熱圧時間と材質との関係を検討して次の結論を得た.即ち, 1) 網目の細かくなる(mesh数が多くなる)程,硬質繊維板の締まりが良くなり,比重,曲げ...強さ,曲げヤング係数およびブリネル硬さは増大する.しかしながら,その傾向は30~40 meshまでが急激で,それ以上に網目が増しても変化は緩かで材質の向上は僅かである(Fig.4,5,7,9,10). 2) 熱圧時間が長くなるに伴って,材質は向上するが,その影響は網目の粗い程,顕著に現れる(Fig.6,8,11).
In this study, we researched for the proper manufacturing condition of SIS hardboard, having higher Young's modulus. The Asplund pulp was defibrated from Red Lauan under the constant condition and the hardboard from Asplund pulp were hot pressed with varying the mesh number of wire netting and the pressing time (Tables 1, 2 and 3). Investigating the effect of the mesh number of wire netting and the hot pressing time on the physical and strength properties of hardboard, the following results were obtained: 1) The specific gravity, modulus of rupture, Young's modulus and Brinell hardness of hardboard are improved with the increase of mesh number of wire netting, because of becoming more compact the texture of hardboard. The aforementioned sudden changing tendency of improvement of hardboard's properties are continue until 30~40 mesh and the more increasing of mesh number of wire netting improve the properties slightly (Fig's. 4, 5, 7, 9 and 10). 2) The properties of hardboard are improved with elongation of hot pressing time, but its effect become significantly with coaser meshes (Fig's. 6, 8 and 11).
