本作品は、日本在住の筆者および共同執筆者がインドのムンバイ近郊鉄道向けの鉄道車両デザインの仮想プロジェクトに対してデザイン提案を行ったプロセスおよび提案内容、提案に対する評価を記述したものである。外装のデザインでは、コンセプトワード「Energetic & Systematic」に基づき、ムンバイのエネルギッシュな気分を表現した「先頭部の造形」と、交通インフラをネットワークとして扱うための案内サイ...ンとしての「外装のグラフィックデザイン」を提案した。内装のデザインでは、コンセプトワード「Smooth & Smart」に基づき、多くの乗客で混雑するムンバイ近郊鉄道の鉄道車両内でスムースな移動を実現するための「車内レイアウト」と、外装のグラフィックデザインの考え方を踏襲したスマートな案内サインとしての「内装のグラフィックデザイン」を提案した。これらのコンセプト提案に対して、ムンバイ近郊鉄道の車両企画者から高い評価を得ることができた。
This work describes the process, the content of the proposal and the evaluation of the proposal by the author and co-authors living in Japan, who made a design proposal for a hypothetical project to design rolling stock for the Mumbai Suburban Railway in India. For the exterior design, based on the concept words ‘Energetic & Systematic’, the proposal included a ‘frontal shape’ to express the energetic mood of Mumbai and an ‘exterior graphic design’ as a information sign to treat the transport infrastructure as a network. For the interior design, based on the concept words ‘Smooth & Smart’, the proposal included an ‘interior layout’ to ensure smooth movement in the crowded Mumbai Suburban Railway trains and an ‘Interior graphic design’ as a smart information sign following the concept of exterior graphic design. These concept proposals were highly appreciated by the rolling stock planners of the Mumbai Suburban Railway.続きを見る
