概要 Effective management of wastewater from process industries and laboratories is increasingly critical due to the environmental and health risks associated with heavy metal contamination. This study exp...lores the use of soy pulp, an agricultural by-product of the soy processing industry, as a sustainable precursor for activated carbon production. Soy-pulp derived activated carbon was synthesized via slow, fast, and conventional pyrolysis techniques and assessed for its efficiency in adsorbing cadmium (Cd), copper (Cu), iron (Fe), and lead (Pb) from synthetic wastewater. Adsorption efficiencies across all treatments ranged from 98.00% to 99.81%, with the highest removal recorded for Cu, followed by Cd, Fe, and Pb. Activated carbon synthesized through slow pyrolysis at 350 °C for 4 hours achieved the highest removal rates for Cd (99.65%), Cu (99.81%), and Fe (99.38%), and showed strong performance for Pb (98.83%). The consistent trend in metal removal (Cu > Cd > Fe > Pb) across all pyrolysis methods indicates a dominant affinity for Cu (II) and comparatively lower affinity for Pb (II). These findings demonstrate the potential of soy pulp-derived activated carbon as an effective and sustainable adsorbent for heavy metal removal from wastewater.続きを見る
