| 概要 | This article tries to explore a possibility of setting up an international liberal arts program (or its part) based on a model from a popular extracurricular program in Japan called ESS (English Speak...ing Society) based mainly on the author's own experiences in some ESSs as a student and then as an advisor. After characterizing an ESS as an intellectually challenging program which compliments the traditional Japanese university education, the author details its forensic activities especially debate. Based on such activities，a brief outline of a partial curriculum is proposed for international programs in order to develop students' argumentation skills (research, analysis, and rhetorical communication). As an addendum, unsolved problems are raised in relation to English Hegemony Imperialism, which is unavoidable in such English-medium programs.続きを見る |
