概要 The concept of reflection is of great importance in the field of teacher education, with numerous countries embracing it. The impact of Donald Schon's concept of reflective practice on this trend is c...onsiderable. Nevertheless, some have observed that the meaning of the concepts employed in Schon's reflective practice remains ambiguous. The concept of'reflection-in-action', which is of great importance in the reflective practice, is also regarded as a difficult concept to understand. This paper aims to interpret'reflection-in-action'from a different perspective to previous research and to contribute to the clarification of'reflection-in-action'. Specifically, we reconsider Schon's design theory in relation to the concept of'reflection-in-action'. Schon's design theory has not been extensively investigated in educational research. By adopting Schon's design theory as a lens througli which to view'reflection-in-action', a novel perspective emerges. The examination revealed that Schon's design theory does not reduce design to the thoughts and skills of the designer. Instead, it offers a perspective that sees design as a transactional act that occurs through the intertwining of diverse elements, including the environment surrounding the designer. From this perspective, the concept of'reflection-in-action'can be understood as a process established through transactions between the practitioner and the environment, including various'constants'.S uch an understanding takes an egative stance towards the criticism that'reflection-in-action'is an individualistic concept that places an excessive focus on the internal cognitive processes of the practitioner.続きを見る
