概要 This work investigates the production and analysis of tri-layer hybrid polymer composites that are strengthened by including oil palm empty fruit bunches (EFBS) and jute fibres. The composites were as...sessed for void content, tensile strength, and chemical resistance, with a specific emphasis on a 4:1 weight ratio of oil palm empty fruit bunches (EFBS) to jute fibres. An analysis was conducted on the optimized arrangement of fibres in terms of loading and stacking patterns. The findings indicated that the hybrid composites made of Jute-fiber/EFBS/Jute-fiber demonstrated higher tensile strength (28.72 MPa) and reduced void content (3.18%) in comparison to the hybrids composed of EFBS/Jute/EFBS. The results of the chemical resistance tests indicated that both hybrid composites performed better than pure fibres. Specifically, the Jute-fiber/EFBS/Jute-fiber composites exhibited a 5% to 30% enhancement in diverse chemical environments. The research highlights the potential of these hybrid composites in applications that need improved mechanical capabilities and chemical resistance, offering a sustainable alternative to polymer composite materials.続きを見る
