| 概要 | Social research, particularly empirical studies are very common in the education field. I have been feeling, however, that our social research outcomes from universities were hardly reflected into the... real practice. This fact makes me, as an academic, feel powerless and meaningless. Since some decades ago, some researchers have proposed alternative methods such as Social Construction, Narrative Therapy, Performative Sociology and Arts-Based Research. Gergen (2009) says that we do not need to know ‘what there is’ in order to understand the world, because the world is outcomes of relationship. Therefore, process of our own individual experience is crucial. Yes, it sounds right but isn’t it too subjective? How can we make it science? What can we do with human bias? In order to answer these questions, this paper reviews related theories and discuss about describing process of individual experience and the science. After all, I could not find a concrete answer, but I identified keys to bring social change as follows: relationship, participation, conversation, sympathy, emotion, surprise, discovery, accompanying and empowerment. If it is so, I see the strong potential of the art and individual narrative stories to meet these key components, and eventually to lead to the social change.続きを見る |
