This study examines the mechanisms behind the increase in small stores in old wooden dense urban areas near the city center, focusing on the Ropponmatsu 1-chome, Fukuoka City. The findings suggest tha...t the unique physical attributes, characterized by high building density, a significant proportion of wooden structures, and the presence of old buildings, contributes to the store opening in the area. "Artisan", who prioritize expressing their expertise and uniqueness, were identified as key actors during the initial phase of shop increase. Brokers and community carpenter, referred to as "Navigator", played a crucial role in store establishment, particularly for artisans. However, the motivations behind stores established after a rent increase in 2021 and the evolving roles of artisans and navigators require further investigation. To gain a more comprehensive understanding, future research should conduct interviews with shops established post-2020, examine motivations for establishment at higher rents, and provide a more precise definition and investigation of artisans and navigators.続きを見る
