概要 | Since regionalism appeared in 1950s, regional integration becomes more and more important in the globalization process. Also, regional cooperation is an important method adopted by many countries to... enhance the economic development level. As the most important regional power in Northeast Asia, Japan, China and Korea play irreplaceable role in the international events and economic situation. Considering the present background and their economic characteristics, this thesis tries to figure out the necessity and feasibility of the bilateral or trilateral FTA among Japan, China and Korea. In this regard, the thesis is ordered as follows: Section I is the introduction of background for Northeast Asia. With the “Rebalancing Strategy” of the US and the reach of TPP in 2015, China and Korea face with serious pressure of economic downward. On the other hand, Japan needs to deal with the tradeoff between China and the US, the most important two trade partners in the worldwide. In this case, Japan, China and Korea have the common benefit in reaching more regional cooperation, which constitutes the necessity of the FTA in future development. Section II is the review of the precedent studies on relevant subjects. Classified by studying methods and studying contents, precedent literatures give a good view of this cooperation issue which can be adopted in this thesis. Then considering the studying target of this thesis, authors adopt the combination of qualitative methods and quantitative methods (in particular, the index measuring method) to execute the following feasibility analysis. Also, based on the precedent studies, agricultural products is one of the most important fields in the past or future FTA negotiation among these three countries. Thus, the analysis will be carried out with the objective of agricultural products. Section III is the quantitative analysis of the FTA feasibility, the main part of this thesis. In order to illustrate this study more clearly, this thesis adopts three indexes which are the most widely used in precedent regional cooperation related studies. While TSC (Trade Specification Coefficient) focuses on the situation of worldwide level, the following RRCA (Regional Revealed Comparative Advantage) further support the analysis in the combined market of Japan, China and Korea. These two indexes give the proof that China has stronger advantages in agricultural products than Japan and Korea in both ranges. Then, the calculation of TCI (Trade Complementary Index) gives a detailed view into the bilateral trade complementary relationships among these three countries. Separated by export and import, the TCI also gives proof on the more beneficial trade modes (Japan-Korea, China-Japan and China-Korea) among them, which can be referred as the foundation of future FTA negotiation. On the basis of precedent studies, this thesis tries to figure out the necessity and feasibility of FTAs among Japan, China and Korea with the main tool of index measurement, which stands in the main field of agricultural products. The analysis then gives a positive conclusion on this issue, which can be further studied in future.続きを見る |
