| 概要 | It is well known that the Paleozoic " Chichi bu System " is developed in the Kiku Peninsula, Fukuoka Prefecture. Materials for chronology of the System have been gradually accumulated and recently H. ...FUJIMOTO and his collaborators decided that a limestone bed intercalated in the System of the area is of the Lower Permian in age from study on fusulinid and coralline fossils in the limestone. Whereas, no one has dealt with the geological structure of the area in detail except that H. TAKEHARA debated the geology of the peninsula in 1937. Lately, we had a chance to observe the Paleozoic strata distributed in the northeastern part of the peninsula and brought a fact to light on the geological structure of the strata. Namely, by full observation of grading, cross-lamination and other primary sedimentary structures, it has been clarified that the Paleozoic strata of the area are reverse in order. Although a solid argument has not yet ready for disclosure, we presume to give account of the fact above mentioned and of our opinion on the geological strucure.続きを見る |
