| 概要 | 「大地の両半球図および両天球図」J.ホーマン 18世紀初め ニュールンベルク ホーマンが両半球図で示したこの世界図は、J.ブラウ（1596～1673）の「新世界図」（両半球図）に似ているが、日本とその北の部分は異なっている。すなわち日本の北の「IEDSO」の地が日本と連続しており、しかも日本の形もかなり変形している。また、西半球図でも「ESONIS」の地があり、それが島で示したカリフォルニア付近まで...延びているが、こうした「エゾ」と北アメリカをつなぐ描写は、18世紀前半のいくつかの地図にもみられる。 小野菊雄2002（第43回中央図書館貴重文物展観図録） “The Two Hemispheres of the Earth and the Spherical Map of the Earth” J Hohmann Early 18th Century Nuremberg The world map shown by Homan in both hemispheres is similar to J. Blow’s (1596–1673) “New World Map” (bi-hemisphere), but Japan is different from its north. That is, the land of “IEDSO” in the north of Japan is continuous with Japan, and the shape of Japan is considerably deformed. In addition, the depiction of the land of “ESONIS” in the Western Hemisphere map, which extends to the vicinity of California shown on the island, which connects “Yezo” with North America, can be seen in several maps of the first half of the 18th century.続きを見る |
