| 概要 |
The palm form working system a combination of two different methods of treatment: One is a clear cutting method and the other is a selective cutting method. The main points of its working arrangement ...are as follows (the descriptions of this working system see "Yano, T and Imada, M: Studies on Palm Form Working System." The Bulletin of the Kyushu University Forests, No. 40, 1966). Cutting method: clear cutting and selective cutting Regeneration method: artificial planting in the clear cutting area natural reproduction in the selective cutting area Main tree species: KARAMATSU (Larix leptolepis Gordon) in the clear cutting area MIZUNARA (Quercus cripula Blume) in the selective cutting area Final cutting age: 40 years in the clear cutting area 120 years in the selective cutting area Cutting cycle in the selective cutting area: 40 years The experiment has been carried out in the Kyushu University Forests in Hokkaido since 1962. The author analized the practical results of this working system during ten years (1962-1971) and recognized following problems. 1. The density of forset roads must be high, 2. The secondary stands must be reserved, without cutting. 3. The worthy small and middle trees of hardwood must be reserved, without cutting. 4. The final cutting age must be prolonged. 5. The natural regeneration must be adopted in the clear cutting area. 6. The supplementary working for natural regeneration must be carried out in the selective cutting area.続きを見る
