概要 Mongolia was established in 1924 as the second socialistic state in the world, since then has adhered to socialism system as the satellite nation of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics. In the lat...e 1980s, Mongolia began to embarrass a reform agenda as prestroika started in the USSR. With the fall of the Berlin Wall, Mongolia embarked on a transition to democracy and market-oriented economy. This societal transition brought confusion in Mongolian society and had a great impact on education in Mongolia like making enrollment ratio drop sharply. However, Mongolia minimized the consequences of troubled education and it improved that situation. This is attributed to the fact that Mongolian communist government had put great emphasis on education as a means of entrenching ideology of socialism and developing the nation. In addition, solid educational foundation contributes to formation of a nation well adapted to democratic society and market-oriented economy. Education and politics seem to be closely connected. A modern educational system in Mongolia was founded by breaking feudal system, and then continued to grow with introduction of socialism. And in the 1970s, establishments or equipments and educational contents were brought up to a very high standard that enrollment ratio and literacy rate were almost 100%. So education had made a significant contribution to the formation of the nation and therefore it served as the driving force of movement for democratization. However, Mongolia went through a period of chaos in the educational system as described above. And now, education in Mongolia is being recovered and is entering a new stage with the helps of foreign countries. Because education is closely linked with politics, we are witnessing that education in Mongolia was under the influence of the USSR in the age of socialism and it is now influenced by Western countries after democratization. Thus, education in Mongolia has developed by aid from foreign countries and intimately connected with the politics since the introduction of a modern educational system. From here on, it needs to become independent from foreign aids, and the country tries to develop its own education by itself.続きを見る
