概要 Thoroughly revised and updated for its Sixth Edition, this classic work is the most comprehensive reference on diagnosis and treatment of neuro-ophthalmologic diseases. This edition has two new edito...s--Valerie Biousse, MD and John B. Kerrison, MD--and has been streamlined from five volumes into three tightly edited volumes with a sharper focus on patient management. Coverage includes major updates on genetics of diseases, new diagnostic techniques, and the newest treatment options. This second volume covers tumors, the phacomatoses, and vascular disease. Volume 1 covers the visual sensory system, the autonomic nervous system, the ocular motor system, the eyelid, facial pain and headache, and nonorganic disease. Volume 3 covers degenerative, metabolic, infectious, inflammatory, and demyelinating diseases.

This volume is devoted entirely to vascular disorders that produce neuro-ophthalmologic signs and symptoms, illustrated with the results of neuroimaging as well as clinical and pathologic photographs. The first chapter concerns the anatomy of the cerebral vascular system. This chapter is followed by chapters concerned with aneurysms, carotid-cavernous sinus fistulas, cerebrovascular ischemic and hemorrhage occlusive disease, migraine, vasculitis, and venous occlusive disease. This volume, which concludes the 4th edition of Walsh and Hoyt's Clinical Neuro-Ophthalmology (the 3rd edition, 1969, was simply titled Neuro-Ophthalmology), is devoted mainly to the neuro- ophthalmologic manifestations of infections and inflammations that affect the eyes and nervous system. Chapters cover lesions produced by infections and inflammations of the CNS, bacteria and bacterial diseases, fungi and mycotic diseases, diseases caused by helminths, diseases caused by mycoplasmas (mollicutes), prions and prion diseases, protozoa and protozoal diseases, rickettsiae and rickettsial diseases, spirochetes and spirochetoses, viruses and viral diseases, multiple sclerosis and related demyelinating diseases, and diseases of presumed infectious etiology. There is also a single chapter on the neuro-ophthalmologic manifestations of nonorganic disease. Annotation copyright by Book News, Inc., Portland, OR
