| 概要 | Bajorski (statistics, Rochester Institute of Technology, New York) has developed a textbook from lecture notes for a graduate course on multivariate statistics he taught for imaging science students. ...here is a growing need for the statistical analysis of data in imaging, optics, and photonics, he says, but the information on how to do so is couched in language too deep for an occasional user, and is scattered among many books. He explains techniques using real examples from those fields, and focuses on selecting and using the techniques, and testing the result rather than on theoretical underpinnings. Beginning with the basics and proceeding to the complex, he considers such topics as statistical inference, fundamentals of multivariate statistics, principles component analysis, and clustering as unsupervised learning.
