| 概要 | Sponsored by the Ford Foundation, this English edition of the history and evaluation of legal changes in China since 1978 is a remarkable look at China's ongoing transition to a world power. Cai (law,...China University of Political Science and Law) explains the adoption of the Chinese constitution and the growth of constitutionalism. His fellow editor, Wang, an official in several legal organizations in China, provides an opening article on the history of law in China from the days of the Emperors. Other authors focus on one aspect of the law: criminal, judicial, legal education, economics, trade, intellectual property, the environment and the protection of the poor and minorities. These essays explain the changes that have occurred in the past thirty years but also note areas where more needs to be done.
