| 概要 | Wong (Nanyang Technological U., Singapore) and Rigg (Durham U., UK) present 13 papers exploring the role of both international and domestic labor migration flows in reshaping urban contexts in Asia wh...le paying particular attention to issues of marginalization and contestation. Following introductory chapters describing the contemporary face of labor migration in Asia and discussing theoretical approaches, papers discuss such topics as post-industrialism and the spatial politics of "new immigration" in Singapore, integrative rhetoric and exclusionary realities in the migration policies of Malaysia toward Bangladeshis, transnational experiences of Chinese migrant mothers and children in Singapore, formation and patterns of ethnic enclaves in Korean cities, economic marginality among Japanese-Brazilian migrants in Japan, migrant labor and residential conflict in the Malaysian city of Penang, contested spaces in the factory zone of the Thai city of Bangkok, migrant labor in Guangdong and the Chinese hukou system of household residential registration, marginalization of rural migrants in China's transitional cities, and migration and the contested arena of waste re-use aquaculture systems in the Cambodia city of Phnom Penh.
