概要 Margolis (philosophy, Temple U.) argues that three seminal works of philosophy superficially commending different directions for Eurocentric philosophy, in hindsight have combined to re-energize pragm...tism by offering it new choices. The texts are W. V. Quine's 1960 Word and Object, T. S. Kuhn's 1962 and 1970 The Structure of Scientific Revolutions, and Richard Rorty's 1979 Philosophy and the Mirror of Nature. The pragmatism he sees emerging is not the traditional American version, but a multiplicity born through confrontation between Anglo-American and continental thought. In addition to the title chapter, he looks at reclaiming naturalism and vicissitudes of transcendental reason. Annotation ©2010 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com) 続きを見る
