| 概要 | A treatment-oriented approach, offender reintegration, and partnerships between community corrections and other agencies are the core elements of this text intended for an undergraduate course. It cov...rs all major topics in the field while focusing strongly on assessment, risk prediction, and classification, and provides insight into how practitioners conduct day-to-day business in community corrections. Cases support the need for community supervision officers to be well-versed on special offender typologies, including sex offenders, mentally ill offenders, those with communicable diseases, and drug offenders. Other learning features include mock pre-sentence investigation reports (PSIs), and boxes on applications of theory and cross-national perspectives. A companion web site links students to appropriate SAGE journal articles, self-quizzes, e-flashcards, and Web exercises and resources. The text can be used in undergraduate programs in criminal justice that offer courses in community corrections, probation, and parole. It may also be considered as a supplement for a general corrections course. Hanser teaches criminal justice at the University of Louisiana-Monroe.
