Early chapters are devoted to partial O*-algebras, ba...ic properties, examples, and topologies, and a generalization of this new framework to the modular theory of Tomita-Takesaki is presented. Later chapters focus on abstract partial *-algebras and their representation theory. There is also material on partial *-algebras of operators on Rigged Hilbert Spaces, and some examples of applications in mathematical physics are included.
