| 概要 | Develops the diagrammatic theory of knotted surfaces in 4-dimensional space in analogy with the classical theory of knotted and linked circles in 3-space. Early chapters develop the notion of a knotte... surface diagram, demonstrate the theory of Reidemeister moves, review the theory of surface braids. Later chapters contrast the knotted surface case with classical theory, offer methods for computing the fundamental group, describe the Seifert algorithm for knotted surfaces, and review the algebraic and categorical aspects of knotted surfaces. Presents solutions to equations based on diagrammatic methods. Some exercises are research problems, and readers are encouraged to find solutions. Includes many bandw diagrams.
