This book presents methods for num...rical modeling of stress wave propagation in solids. Finite Difference Methods & Boundary Element Methods are mainly used. The author primarily discussed solving two-dimensional problems with direct applications in engineering. The effects of material properties (elasticity, plasticity, viscosity, etc.) on the wave patterns are considered. Numerical schemes for solving hyperbolic systems for these wave problems are studied in detail.
