| 概要 | Hundreds of artists in Europe and the US were influenced by Symbolism, but this sourcebook focuses on 16 members of three main groups of those who were adherents of post-impressionist French painter P...ul Gauguin's (1848-1903) Synthesism: at Pont-Aven from 1888 to the late 1890s, the Nabis from 1888 to 1900, and the Salons de la Rose + Croix from 1892 to 1897. For each, a biography, chronology, and bibliography is provided. Many of the entries are briefly but not critically annotated. Artworks and personal names are indexed. The volume completes the cycle of bibliographies and sourcebooks on fin-de-siecle French colorists, which began in 1991 with a volume on Gauguin himself.
