| 概要 | The first edition of this enduring text was published in 1978, the effort of Samuel S.C. Yen (d. 2006) and colleague Robert B. Jaffe (U. of California, San Francisco); their names are now at the head ...f the sixth edition, and editorial leadership is in the hands of Jerome F. Strauss III (Virginia Commonwealth U.) and Robert L. Barbieri (Harvard Medical School), both of whom are specialists in obstetrics, gynecology, and reproductive biology. Thirty-four chapters address various aspects of the diagnosis and management of reproductive endocrine disorders, beginning with coverage of such topics as the neuroendocrinology of reproduction, gonadotropin hormones and their receptors, prolactin, synthesis and metabolism of steroid hormones, and the ovarian life cycle, and continuing with disorders of sex development, nutrition and the pubertal transition, polycystic ovary syndrome, endocrine diseases of pregnancy, and breast cancer, among other topics. The final chapters are devoted to reproductive technologies including ovarian stimulation for infertility, assisted reproduction, evaluation of hormonal status, pelvic imaging, and contraception.
