The mathematical and reasoning sophistication increases as the chapters proceed from a long introduction and review of biological modeling, through calculus, differential equations, dimensionless variables, descriptive statistics, standard discrete and continuous models using difference and differential equations, matrix algebra, probability, statistics, and stochastic processes.
