| 概要 | Plans to more fully develop Latin American markets are aggressive, and so are the plans to develop financial infrastructure. In this study of situations and possibilities, Stallings (international stu...ies, Brown U.) and Studart (Inter-American Development Bank) review the changes in Latin America, especially the financial liberalization of the last fifteen years or so, and note the possibilities of a resulting financial crisis. They describe ownership of the financial sector, the role of governments in regulations and oversight, and the new capital markets and compare those situations with those of Southeast Asia. They believe advocates of private banking and monitoring and more integration with capital markets may be incorrect, and that Latin America would benefit more from long-term financial arrangements and better service of small business instead.
