概要	These proceedings of two symposia held at the Institut des Hautes Etudes Scientifiques in November 2006 focus on singularity theory and the broad area of noncommutativity, especially noncommutative ge...metry. More than half of the papers include results which have not appeared previously in professional journals. With a few exceptions, these new results are presented with complete proofs. The remaining papers are devoted to overviews of developments in the fields. Some topics discussed include singularities and self-similarities in gravitational collapse, horospherical geometry in the hyperbolic space, superconformal field theory and operator algebras, and quantum Birkhoff normal forms and semiclassical analysis. Other subjects are local Gromov-Witten invariants of cubic surfaces, flop invariance of the topological vertex, Lagrangian fibrations and theta functions, and ends of metric measure spaces with non-negative Ricci curvature.
