| 概要 | A self-contained treatment of the subject for graduate students, requiring only familiarity with basic notions in module and ring theory. Early chapters give basic tools and notation, deal with torsio... free covers over integral domains, and give information on precovers and covers, and preenvelopes and envelopes. Later chapters introduce the notion of cotorsion theory, explain balance of a functor of two variables, and cover applications to ring theory, including Iwanaga-Gorenstein and Cohen-Macaulay rings. Most of these results are already known, say Enochs (U. of Kentucky-Lexington) and Jenda (Auburn U., Alabama), but not easily available in a single place. They cover complexes of modules, short exact sequences of complexes, the category K(R-Mod), co-torsion pairs and triplets in C(R-Mod), adjoint functions, model structures, creating co-torsion pairs, minimal complexes, and Cartan and Eilenberg resolutions.
