The contributors describe programs, policies and plans for eight European nations, comparing their approach to the Directive and the methods each nation is using to support applications of sustainable energy at the local and national levels. Along with a comprehensive assessment and comparison of national initiatives, the contributors provide input to new and ongoing policy instruments regarding the most effective means of achieving sustainable energy and related climate policies.
