| 概要 | Written for student readers at the high school level and above, and of interest to general readers, this two-volume reference presents detailed discussion of the science, politics, and history of clim...te change, its causes, and its impact. The work is composed of articles--rather than shorter entries--with each article discussing an issue, concept, geographical feature, or tool at some length (3-8 pages) and concluding with bibliography and list of web sites. Groups of articles are devoted to the issues and policies of the US and China, respectively. Each article contains inset boxes of essential vocabulary with lengthy definitions. Many maps and photos are included. The authors are academics in geology, geography, microbiology, and earth science as well as independent scholars living in the UK, India, Russia, Australia, Canada, and the US.
